David says...
This is the first group of volunteers from Ma’anit that I recognise. Johan. I remember because he was the first Swede I had ever met ( I went to live in his room, by the big Eucalyptus tree, when he left). I particularly was impressed by the number of drinking songs he was able to perform at the Christmas party! Marilyn I also remember primarily because she could speak German and translated for the nurse when I split my head open in an accident with a tractor and a low hanging tree branch and my inability to steer, brake and duck. Larry became a close companion as the time went by. We travelled to Eilat and south Sinai together. Ria(n) I have a vague recollection of…although the whole Scandinavian group made quite an impression on us all, that the characteristics of many individuals have now become merged into a few, almost archetypical figures. After I left Israel I went to live in Denmark. I’m now bilingual with Danish children and grandchildren.
